Overview

POSITION SCOPE:

 

As a Maintenance - Vendor Supervisor, you will use knowledge of tractor trailer maintenance: supervise, coordinate and engage with a network of vendors to perform tractor – trailer and forklift repairs.  Manage the work request / work order process. Review estimates, audit invoices and approve repairs. Coordinate and communicate effective outcomes for the up-time and repairs of assigned equipment. Maintain the PM Currency KPI’s as stated for all equipment.

 

  • Monday-Friday, 10AM Start Time!

 

POSITION SUCCESS: Success in this position will be dependent on establishing best practice maintenance methods for the XGS fleet equipment through well managed vendor relationships and knowledge.

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the Repair and Maintenance of commercial trucks, trailers and forklifts though a network of vendors Ensuring equipment is repaired and maintained to DOT compliances. Ensure fleet is compliant with PM Goals.
  • Cultivate a network of maintenance providers(vendors): finding, onboarding, managing and maintaining an on-going relationship.
  • Understand the Key KPI’s and supervise to meet the department objectives. Cost – Uptime – PM Currency
  • Maintain and manage data using maintenance operations systems and order processing systems, work estimate’s / work requests and work orders. Work with vendor websites and internal control boards to manage and monitor breakdowns and solution to all maintenance needs.
  • Ability to clearly document cause, complaint, and correction on each repair order.
  • Ability to understand diagnoses and repairs related to (but not limited to) trucks, trailers and forklifts.
  • Negotiate and reconcile vendor estimates and final billing.
  • Responsible for maintaining a culture of compliance and safety in the workplace by enforcing established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:

  • Clear understanding of heavy equipment (Class 5 -8), Trailers and forklift Maintenance
  • Ability to communicate with drivers, terminal management and vendors on outcomes and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Operating Systems to manage and monitor the repair process and payment-billing process.

The candidate must be able to...

  • Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds and push up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate object
  • Have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office machines
  • Handle exposure to extreme cold and/or hot working conditions
  • Handle average exposure to fumes working around tractor trailers, lift trucks, yard tractors present in the distribution environment
  • Have correctable vision and hearing
